Envoy Adhikari Joins Baisakhi Celebrations in Pakistan
Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Tapas Adhikari, was warmly welcomed as a special guest at the Baisakhi celebration held at Gurudwara Sri Punja Sahib in Hassan Abdal, Pakistan. The event, organized by the Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, marked a significant occasion for the Sikh community worldwide.
Gurudwara Sri Punja Sahib holds great reverence for Sikhs, as it bears the imprint of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. Baisakhi, a day of immense importance for Sikhs, commemorates the foundation day of Khalsa Panth.

The celebration also recalls the historic significance of Baisakhi, when Guru Gobind Singh Ji established the Khalsa order in 1699 in Anandapur. Additionally, in 1801, Punjab King Ranjit Singh was proclaimed Maharaja on Baisakhi day.
The event witnessed a large gathering of Sikh devotees from various parts of the world, coming together to honor their faith and heritage. Notably, members of the Pakistani Hindu community also joined in the festivities, fostering communal harmony and unity.
Ambassador Adhikari’s participation in the Baisakhi celebration signifies the enduring friendship between Nepal and Pakistan, as well as Nepal’s respect for religious diversity and cultural traditions.
