Government Vows to Enhance Weather Forecasting System for Disaster Preparedness
In a bid to bolster disaster preparedness, the government has unveiled plans to fortify the reliability of the weather forecasting system. President Ramchandra Paudel, while presenting the government’s policy and program for the fiscal year 2081/082 BS, emphasized the need to enhance the forecasting system to effectively address threats posed by floods, storms, lightning, and other weather-induced disasters.
Under the proposed initiatives, weather forecasting and early warning systems will be extended to encompass trekking routes, ensuring the safety of adventurers and locals alike. The government aims to utilize advanced technology and infrastructure to mitigate risks associated with unpredictable weather patterns, safeguarding communities and promoting sustainable development.
