Former president Bhandari expresses grief
Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed grief over a fatal incident caused by a landslide occurred at Simtal of Narayangadh-Muglin road section.
The former President said more than 60 passengers had gone missing when the landslide swept away two passenger buses into the Trishuli River at Simtal of Narayangadh-Muglin road section early Friday morning.
Similarly, 11 persons died in separate rain-induced disasters in Kaski.
“I express deep sorrow for loss of lives and property due to floods and landslides in various parts of the country including Okhaldhunga, Taplejung, Kaski, Arghakhanchi, Makwanpur, Dolakha, Kathmandu, Rasuwa, Gorkha, Tanahun, Rukum Paschim, and Baitadi”, former President Bhandari stated on social media.
She has requested the concerned agencies to search and rescue the missing passengers and manage medical treatment for the injured ones. Bhandari further urged the authorities to shift the people living at risk to safer places.
