Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Bidya Bhattarai, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the overall development and protection of children’s rights during an interaction on ‘Role of Stakeholders in Protection of Children’s Rights’ held today in Devchuli, Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta Purba).
Minister Bhattarai emphasized the importance of quality education in establishing children’s rights and stated that the government has begun efforts to fully implement free education. She highlighted the collaboration with local governments, schools, and communities to ensure the quality and nutrition of midday meals served in schools, advocating for the use of local products in their preparation.
Addressing the issue of menstrual health, Bhattarai assured that the government would work to prevent girls from being deprived of education due to a lack of sanitary pads.
The program was attended by Parvata Tiwari, Deputy Mayor of Devchuli Municipality, Tilottam Paudel, Chair of Jagriti Bal and Yuva Sarokar Nepal, and over 30 local women representatives from 10 districts of Gandaki Province, along with other key stakeholders, including mayors, deputy mayors, rural municipality chairs, vice chairs, and executive members.
