U.S. Secretary of State Extends Best Wishes to Nepal on Constitution Day

The Government of the United States has extended its best wishes to the people of Nepal on the occasion of Constitution Day. In a press statement issued on Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken congratulated Nepalis on behalf of the U.S. government.

Secretary Blinken highlighted the importance of the day, recognizing Nepal’s achievements, including the recent passage of historic transitional justice legislation. He called for the successful implementation of the law to ensure justice for victims and survivors.

Blinken expressed satisfaction with the joint efforts between the U.S. and Nepal in strengthening people-to-people ties, fostering economic growth through the debt-free partnership with the Millennium Challenge Corporation, promoting justice, and upholding democratic values.

“We remain committed to working with Nepal to increase its climate resilience and advance its transition to clean energy,” Blinken stated, reaffirming the U.S.’s ongoing support for Nepal’s development and environmental goals.
