PM Oli Urges Investment Amid Economic Reforms, Promises Stability and Prosperity
Prime Minister and Chairperson of the CPN (UML), KP Sharma Oli, has called on industrialists and multinational companies to invest in Nepal, asserting that his government has fostered an investment-friendly environment. Addressing an awareness rally organized by the Kathmandu Valley’s three district committees of the CPN (UML) at Durbar Marg, Prime Minister Oli emphasized his administration’s commitment to building a “Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali” through enhanced peace, security, and governance.
Appeal to Investors
Prime Minister Oli highlighted the improving state of Nepal’s economy under the UML-Congress coalition government, which he credited with implementing sound policies and plans.
“The economy was in bad shape, but we are now seeing improvements. I urge Nepal’s industrialists and multinational companies to invest with confidence. The government will ensure security and good governance for your investments,” Oli assured.
Combating Rumors and Ensuring Accountability
Addressing rumors and criticism directed at him and his government, Oli dismissed them as baseless and challenged his detractors to engage in open discussions.
“Deceiving cooperatives, blaming others, using shameful language, and spreading rumors—these tactics are meaningless. Fraud and dishonesty are unacceptable. Nepali people will continue to uphold the vision of a ‘Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali’ while preserving their cultural heritage and pride,” Oli stated.
He also took a firm stance against those defaulting on bank loans, urging the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to collect arrears from defaulters without disrupting power supplies, which he warned could harm the economy.
Commitment to Development and Governance
Prime Minister Oli underscored the government’s resilience in overcoming conspiracies and instabilities, affirming its resolve to prioritize development, prosperity, and good governance.
“Our coalition government will remain strong until the next election. We are focused on defeating anarchy and instability, maintaining communal harmony, and ensuring economic prosperity,” he declared.
Oli also stressed the government’s zero-tolerance approach to corruption, smuggling, character assassination, and other irregularities, emphasizing the consensus between the UML and Nepali Congress in addressing these issues.
Optimism for Upcoming China Visit
Looking ahead to his official visit to China on December 2, Oli expressed confidence in its success.
“My visit is not merely ceremonial but is focused on advancing the country’s interests and welfare. The government has adopted a policy of minimizing loans and increasing domestic production. This will remain central to our discussions,” he assured.
Path Forward
Prime Minister Oli’s remarks reflect his administration’s commitment to creating a stable and prosperous Nepal through policy reforms, collaborative governance, and strategic international partnerships. The upcoming China visit is expected to be a pivotal moment in strengthening bilateral ties and securing development cooperation while adhering to Nepal’s fiscal prudence.
