Lumbini Province Advances Plan for Project Bank to Foster Development
The Lumbini Province Government is moving forward with the establishment of a Project Bank, a key initiative outlined in its annual policies and programs for the fiscal year 2081-82 BS (2024-25).
Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya emphasized that the proposed Project Bank will create a transparent framework for selecting projects, aligning with strategic plans designed to unlock opportunities for prosperity and self-sufficiency within the province.
The Lumbini Province Planning Commission has initiated discussions across various levels to develop guidelines for the bank’s establishment. Stakeholders have called for the prioritization of social and human development aspects in the process.
Mohan Raj Kafley, Secretary at the Ministry of Forests and Environment, expressed optimism about the bank’s potential to enhance participation, fact-based decisions, and transparency in project selection. He highlighted the initiative’s capacity to ensure quality and result-oriented development administration.
Project expert Dr. Nahakul KC noted that the bank will act as a vital tool to integrate projects and strengthen the selection process, paving the way for effective and transparent governance in development planning.
The Project Bank is expected to serve as a cornerstone for efficient resource allocation and sustainable development in Lumbini Province.
