Dr. Mahendra Bista Takes Oath as Executive Chair of Public Service Broadcasting Agency

Dr. Mahendra Bista, the newly-appointed executive chairperson of the Public Service Broadcasting Agency, officially assumed office today after taking the oath of office and secrecy. The oath was administered by Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.

The appointment of Dr. Bista was finalized during a cabinet meeting held on Friday. Previously, he served as the executive chairperson of Nepal Television.

The establishment of the Public Service Broadcasting Agency follows the enactment of the Public Service Broadcasting Act, introduced a few months ago. The Act aims to unify and jointly operate Nepal Television and Radio Nepal under a single agency. Dr. Bista’s appointment marks a significant step toward the consolidation and enhancement of public broadcasting services in Nepal.
