Earthquake of 7 Magnitude with Epicenter in Tibet, Tremors Felt Across Nepal, Including Kathmandu

Earthquake tremors were felt in various parts of Nepal, including Kathmandu, as a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck recently. The tremors lasted for a few seconds, causing panic among residents who rushed out of their homes.

According to the Seismological Measurement and Research Center (SMRC), the epicenter of the earthquake was in Dinggyê County in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. The earthquake occurred at 6:50 am on Tuesday.

Dinggyê County is located near the border with Nepal’s Sankhuwasabha and Taplejung districts. Sankhuwasabha Chief District Officer Binod Kumar Khadka and Taplejung Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma described the earthquake as very strong.

As of now, no details have been received regarding the extent of the damage caused by the earthquake. Authorities in the affected areas are working to assess whether there has been any significant damage.
