BIMSTEC Secretary General Discusses Tourism Development with Minister Pandey
Indramani Pandey, Secretary General of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), met with Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey today to discuss key issues aimed at strengthening regional tourism collaboration.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, focused on enhancing visa facilitation among BIMSTEC countries and developing tourism infrastructure within religious, cultural, and tourism circuits, according to Minister Pandey’s secretariat.
Minister Pandey highlighted the importance of increasing the BIMSTEC Tourism Fund and ensuring its effective utilization. He also advocated for enhanced affiliation and mutual exchanges between the tourism boards of BIMSTEC member states to invigorate Nepal’s aviation sector and elevate its tourism industry to a global level.
Secretary General Pandey underscored the significance of connectivity within the BIMSTEC framework and reiterated the organization’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s tourism development.
The dialogue represents a step forward in fostering regional cooperation to promote sustainable tourism and strengthen cultural ties among BIMSTEC nations.
