China’s preparations for ‘water war’ revealed on Nepal border, huge dam being built
China has stepped up preparations for a future water war with India. China has accelerated the work of constructing a huge dam on the Mabja Zangbo river, just a few kilometers north of the trijunction border with India & Nepal.
Accoding to the experts and analysts,”Chinese dam being built near Uttarakhand, in future, China can establish complete control over the water in the region”.
Popular open source intelligence @detresfa_ has revealed on the basis of its latest satellite images that this Chinese dam is located very close to Kalapani region of Uttarakhand.
Kalapani region is located in the easternmost corner of Pithoragarh district and shares broder on the north with the Tibet Autonomous Region of China and Nepal in the east and south. The region resembles a slice of cake wedged in between Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani.
China is building this dam in its Burang county.
Not only this, China is also building an airport near this dam, which can prove to be very effective for the Chinese Air Force. It can be seen from the pictures that the construction work of this Chinese dam has not been completed yet, but continuous work is going on.
China can increase tension in future with this project. China can take possession of the water in this area. The area where China is building its dam, the entire Kalapani area is very important strategically. This tri-junction of India-Nepal and China can play a very important role in any future war. Not only this, there is a border dispute between India and Nepal regarding Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura. Recently, there was a lot of stone pelting between the traders of India and Nepal.
Prime Minister Prachanda has also said that he will first go to India and hold talks on the border dispute there. This disclosure of building a dam near Nepal has come at a time when China has started finalizing the huge dam near Arunachal Pradesh in the northeast.
China’s dam close to Arunachal Pradesh
China is building this dam on the Yarlung Tsagpo River, a tributary of the Brahmaputra. This Chinese dam is being built on the Medog border which is very close to Arunachal. According to sources, China can change the water flow of Brahmaputra river through this dam. The Brahmaputra river is not only the lifeline of the Northeast but also of Bangladesh. This will either lead to water shortage in Arunachal and Assam or so much water will come that many areas will be submerged in flood.
