Prachanda’s Government Will Not Last Long: NC Spokesperson Mahat

Nepali Congress spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat forecasted the potential collapse of the current Nepalese government under Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, citing “inherent instability and lack of trust” as the primary reasons. Speaking at a function hosted by the Nepal Press Union Central Committee, Dr. Mahat emphasized the precarious foundation upon which the present government stands.

“The current government is built on the foundation of instability and mistrust. Its lifespan is going to end soon,” Dr. Mahat stated, assuring the audience that a transition to a more stable and transparent administration is imminent. “A government dedicated to transparency, development, and stability will soon replace it, and this change will bolster democracy,” he added.

The Nepali Congress spokesperson also took the opportunity to criticize the government’s handling of democratic principles and constitutional norms. According to Dr. Mahat, there has been a concerning effort to exploit the unstable political climate to undermine democratic values, although these attempts have so far been thwarted.

“Nepali politics is not confused because of the Nepali Congress. It is not the Congress that has caused instability,” Dr. Mahat clarified, pointing out that the true threat to Nepal’s democratic movement and national progress stems from those who perpetuate political instability.
