Actress Upasana Singh Thakuri Fails to Recognize Nepali Film Stars
In a recent appearance on Prakash Subedi’s show, actress Upasana Singh Thakuri faced backlash for her struggle to identify both old and new generation Nepali artists, leading to online criticism and trolling.
During the episode aired last Saturday, Subedi presented Upasana with photographs of prominent Nepali actors, including Bipana Thapa, Sharmila Malla, Arunima Lamsal, Nirmal Sharma, Shivhari Paudel, Jeewan Luitel, Bhuwan Chand, Ramit Dhungana, Bashundhara Bhusal, Vijay Lama, and Jal Shah. However, the actress could only recognize Niruta Singh among the mentioned names.
Following her inability to identify the majority of the artists, Upasana became the target of online trolling and criticism. Fans and viewers took to social media platforms to express their disappointment and share their opinions on her apparent lack of familiarity with the Nepali film industry.
Upasana, who made her debut in Nepali films with the movie ‘Captain,’ admitted that she wasn’t well-acquainted with many actors featured in the program. She urged the audience not to criticize her, emphasizing that her lack of recognition should not be a cause for negativity.
