Agriculture Minister Ramnath Adhikari Vows to Expose Misuse of Subsidies and Grants

Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ramnath Adhikari, announced that the names of individuals who have received substantial subsidies and grants from the Ministry but failed to utilize them properly will soon be made public.

Speaking to media persons at the Ministry on Tuesday, Adhikari revealed that the Ministry of Agriculture has distributed billions of rupees in subsidies over the past five to seven years. He assured that detailed information on these distributions will be released in the coming days. “There is a significant gap between the Ministry of Agriculture and the real farmers,” Adhikari stated, emphasizing his commitment to bridging this gap.

The Agriculture Minister also addressed the issue of payments owed to sugarcane and dairy farmers. He highlighted that since assuming office, Rs. 2.5 million has been disbursed to dairy farmers, with ongoing efforts to settle the remaining dues.

On a broader note, Minister Adhikari acknowledged public disenchantment with political parties and stressed the importance of the current alliance between the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) in restoring public enthusiasm. “There is no way to escape from responsibility,” he asserted.

He also invited media scrutiny of his actions, promising to accept any constructive criticism positively. “If I have made any mistakes, I urge you to point them out, and I will take it positively,” Adhikari concluded.
