Ambassadors Appointed: Paudyal to Canada, Nepal to Portugal

Bharat Raj Paudyal has been appointed as Canada’s ambassador. The newly appointed Ambassador Paudyal is a career diplomat, having previously served as the foreign secretary of Nepal. President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed him as ambassador on Friday.

Similarly, Nepal has appointed its first ambassador to Portugal. Sanil Nepal has been appointed as ambassador to Portugal.

Both appointments were made by the President based on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.

There is a constitutional provision for the President to appoint ambassadors after the recommendation of the Council of Ministers is approved by the Parliamentary Special Hearing Committee.
