Appropriation Bill, 2081 Passed by HoR with Majority Support

The House of Representatives (HoR) successfully passed the Appropriation Bill, 2081, following extensive deliberations and discussions. Finance Minister Barshaman Pun’s proposal received majority approval during the session, marking a significant step in the legislative process.

The clause-by-clause discussions on the Appropriation Bill, 2081 were meticulously concluded in the HoR, where various ministries, offices, and entities were scrutinized for their budget allocations. Deliberations began on June 11 and continued with active participation from lawmakers, who raised queries regarding the allocation of funds for different ministries.

Prime Minister and relevant Ministers responded comprehensively to these queries, addressing concerns and providing insights into the fiscal strategies outlined in the Estimates of Income and Expenditure (Budget) for the Fiscal Year 2024/25. The government’s presentation of the budget during a joint session of the Federal Parliament on May 28 laid the groundwork for these discussions, ensuring transparency and accountability in the allocation of national resources.
