BFIs collect over Rs 530 billion in deposits in six months

Banks and financial institutions (BFIs) have collected over Rs 532 billion in deposits as of January 4 of the current fiscal year, 2022/23.
The figure was around Rs 520 billion until December 15, it has been said. Of the deposits, commercial banks alone collected Rs 467.5 billion, according to data with the Nepal Rastra Bank.
Until January 4, BFIs loaned out Rs 476.7 billion. During the period, BFIs’ average CD Ratio remained 86.56 percent, while inter-bank loan rate has decreased to 6.83 percent.
