Biden Signs Bill: TikTok Must Sell or Be Banned in the U.S.

President Joe Biden has signed a new law in the United States that could lead to a ban on TikTok, the popular video-sharing app owned by the Chinese company ByteDance.
The law sets a deadline for ByteDance to sell TikTok to a U.S. company within one year, or the app will be banned.
Reason Behind the Potential Ban
The decision comes amid long-standing concerns that TikTok could be used to influence U.S. presidential elections. U.S. lawmakers are worried that the Chinese government could potentially access millions of American users’ data through ByteDance, or influence public opinion by manipulating the content shown on TikTok.
