Bill Amending Prevention of Corruption Act Passed by State Affairs Committee

The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives has passed a bill aimed at amending the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059.

During today’s meeting, the Committee approved the bill, along with the report from the sub-committee, led by Chairperson Ram Hari Khatiwada. A sub-committee, coordinated by Committee member Hridaya Ram Thani, was formed to address and finalize the issues raised during the bill’s discussions.

Earlier, the report from the sub-committee was presented and discussed. Minister for Home Affairs, Ramesh Lekhak, representing the government, urged the Committee to pass the bill as prepared by the sub-committee, highlighting that the government had fully endorsed the proposed amendments.
