Book Featuring Narendra Modi’s Global Speeches Launched in Kathmandu
A new book titled “Bishwomanchma Narendra Modi” (Narendra Modi on the Global Stage) was unveiled at a special event in Kathmandu, shedding light on the Indian Prime Minister’s influential speeches delivered across the globe from 2014 to 2024.
Compiled by Bhupendra Bahadur Chhetri and translated into Nepali by Sagar Chand, the book offers a comprehensive collection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s addresses at various international platforms and forums over the past decade.
Speaking at the launch event, translator Sagar Chand emphasized India’s evolving role on the world stage under Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting the country’s assertive presence in global affairs. With 29 meticulously translated speeches, the book aims to provide insights into Modi’s worldview and India’s expanding global footprint.
“India is forging ahead with a new vision, and Narendra Modi has been instrumental in leading the nation on the global stage. This book serves as a testament to India’s growing influence in international forums,” Chand remarked.
India’s remarkable economic trajectory has been a cornerstone of its ascent on the global stage. According to a report by the World Economic Forum, India contributed a substantial 16 percent to global growth in 2023, underscoring its pivotal role in shaping the global economy. With a robust growth rate of 7.2% in the fiscal year 2022-2023, India stood out among G20 nations, bolstering its standing as a key player on the world stage.
Furthermore, India’s strides in infrastructure development, expanded internet connectivity, and strengthened ties with Western nations have bolstered its stature in international arenas, positioning it as a formidable force in global discourse.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s frequent engagements with Nepal underscore the enduring ties between the two nations. With four visits to Nepal, including participation in the SAARC meetings, Modi’s diplomatic outreach underscores the importance of bilateral relations.
Bhupendra Bahadur Chhetri, the compiler of the book, highlighted the historical bonds between Nepal and India, emphasizing the significance of translating Modi’s speeches into Nepali. “The book aims to familiarize Nepalis with India’s ‘neighbor-first’ policy and its proactive engagement in global forums,” Chhetri remarked.
Published by Indigo Inc., the book is priced at Rs. 549, offering readers an insightful glimpse into India’s diplomatic endeavors under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stewardship.
