Border Security Apprehends Smuggler from Rasuwagadhi Border Crossing

In a significant operation conducted by border security personnel, a woman has been apprehended while attempting to smuggle one kilogram of gold into Nepal. Pachemu Tamang, a 41-year-old resident of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-3, was arrested on Saturday at the Miteri bridge, as reported by District Police Chief Subas Budhathoki.

Tamang’s arrest came after vigilant border security officers discovered her in possession of a kilogram of gold, believed to have been acquired in Kerung, as she was entering Nepal through the Rasuwagadhi border crossing. However, during the apprehension, it was observed that Tamang was unwell, prompting authorities to admit her to Rasuwa Hospital for immediate medical attention. Local law enforcement has since initiated further investigations into the smuggling operation.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, a 16-year-old youth named Prabesh Tamang, originally from Kavre and currently residing in Kathmandu, was found after he had gone missing in the Dimsa region of Rasuwa. The young boy, who had been visiting Gosainkunda with his mother to observe the Janai Poornima festival, inadvertently strayed from the main road and ended up on a forest path.

After two days of being missing, Sushil Thokra, a resident of Dhunche, came across Prabesh in the Khopang Bhir area while on his way to Dhunche. The search for the missing youth had involved the combined efforts of the Nepal Police, Nepal Army, and the Armed Police Force, following the initial report of his disappearance.
