BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital Expands CT Scan Services to Reduce Patient Wait Times
The BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital in Bharatpur has extended its CT scan service hours, eliminating long wait times for patients. Previously, patients had to wait up to a week for a CT scan, as the hospital handled 60 to 70 scans daily.
Dr. Nitu Sharma, Chief of the Hospital’s Radiology Department, announced that the waiting period has been reduced following the hiring of two additional radiologists. “With the new management, we’ve filled the two vacant radiologist positions, allowing us to offer 12 hours of service from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm,” she said.
The department now has seven radiologists, enabling extended service hours. This improvement has also reduced the MRI waiting time from two weeks to just two days. Additionally, the video X-ray service has been enhanced, with two radiologists now dedicated to providing this service, compared to just one previously.
