Buddha Air Flight 805 Skids Off Runway at Gautam Buddha Airport

An incident occurred last night at Gautam Buddha Airport when a Buddha Air aircraft, flight number 805, carrying 59 people, including four crew members, skidded off the runway during landing. The aircraft was landing from east to west at 9:30 pm on Thursday when it became stuck in the mud, according to Manohar Prasad Bhatta, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Rupandehi.
Fortunately, all passengers were safely evacuated from the plane. Currently, Gautam Buddha Airport has been closed as efforts are underway to clear the runway. A team of technicians from Buddha Air is en route from Kathmandu to assist in shifting the aircraft.
