Buddha Air Marks 27th Anniversary and Welcomes 17th ATR Aircraft
Buddha Air, one of the leading private airlines in Nepal, is celebrating its 27th anniversary today. The airline, which commenced operations with a small 18-seater aircraft, has significantly expanded its fleet over the years and currently operates 16 aircraft, including ATR 42-320 and ATR 72-500. Moreover, the airline is poised to welcome its 17th ATR aircraft within the month, according to a company announcement.
Birendra Bahadur Basnet, the executive chairperson of Buddha Air, expressed the company’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing the technical, pilot, and ground operation teams’ capabilities to align with national and international aviation regulations. He emphasized that the airline is subject to regular audits and evaluations by national and international bodies to ensure the efficiency of its flight operations.
Buddha Air boasts a state-of-the-art hangar, renowned as one of the best in South Asia, which serves both national and international airlines. This facility provides maintenance and servicing that meet the highest industry standards.
Having provided service for more than two and a half decades, the airline has successfully served over 20 million passengers, both domestic and international, demonstrating its reliability and quality.
Presently, Buddha Air operates 17 regular flights from Kathmandu to Pokhara, nine to Biratnagar, and ten to Bhairahawa. The airline has also extended its operations to over half a dozen destinations on a regular basis. Buddha Air is set to further expand its flight services to Surkhet, Tumlingtar, and Dhangadhi.
