Budget Passage in Limbo as NC Demands Investigation into Home Minister: RSP

Minister for Labor and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Vice President Dol Prasad Aryal has affirmed that the budget will undergo due process, despite mounting tensions with the Nepali Congress (NC).

Aryal, speaking exclusively to Khabarhub on Saturday, exuded confidence that an accord with the Nepali Congress would be sealed by Sunday. He emphasized, “An agreement will be reached by tomorrow. The budget will come through the proper process. Our colleagues are engaged in discussions at various stages to reach a consensus.”

However, the political climate remains tense as the Nepali Congress, since March 13, has adamantly demanded the establishment of a parliamentary committee to probe Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in a cooperative scam.

In a defiant stance, RSP Chair and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has rebuffed calls for the formation of such a committee, positioning himself against investigation.

The Nepali Congress has stood firm on its stance, vowing not to allow the parliament to function until an inquiry is conducted into the cooperative scam implicating the Home Minister.
