Coalition to Remain Intact for Up to Five Years, Affirms DPM Khadka

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Purna Bahadur Khadka, expressed confidence in the stability of the ruling coalition for the foreseeable future, affirming its unity and resilience for up to five years. Following a meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday, DPM Khadka addressed reporters, highlighting the coalition’s commitment to addressing emerging issues internally through constructive dialogue.

“As a coalition, we are committed to resolving any issues that may arise through internal discussions,” stated DPM Khadka, who also serves as Vice-President of the ruling Nepali Congress.

He further emphasized that the ruling coalition, comprising the Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Center, remains steadfast in its unity and has not entertained thoughts of dissolution. Additionally, DPM Khadka proposed a candidate for the position of National Assembly Chairperson, indicating ongoing discussions within the coalition regarding key leadership roles.

The Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Center have been actively engaged in deliberations regarding the nomination of candidates for the position of National Assembly Chairman, underscoring their collaborative efforts within the coalition.
