Collaboration with UML to Strengthen Federal Democratic Republic: Nidhi

Former Vice-President of the Nepali Congress, Bimalendra Nidhi, has advocated for the party’s decision to politically collaborate with the CPN (UML) to bolster the federal democratic republic governance system. Addressing a press meet organized by the Nepal Press Union in Morang today, Nidhi emphasized that the two largest parties in the federal parliament aim to amend the Constitution to solidify the federal democratic republic. He stated that they would seek the confidence and cooperation of other political parties in this endeavor.

Nidhi, who also served as Deputy Prime Minister, highlighted the importance of including other political parties in the new alliance to ensure their cooperation. He stressed the need to end political instability and address public frustrations.

“Many more things need to be carried out to end political instability and thwart the level of public frustrations,” Nidhi said.

He also mentioned that a discussion on adopting a proportional electoral system for the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly will be concluded after extensive deliberation. Nidhi underlined the necessity of political collaboration to address various issues through constitutional amendments.
