Condolence assembly held at site of plane crash

The Pokhara Metropolitan City has organised a condolence meet and lit candles and butter lamps in memory of the people who died in the Yeti Airlines plane crash on January 15. The condolence assembly was held at the site of the crash in the Seti River gorge.
An ATR-72 aircraft that took off from Kathmandu had crashed into the Seti River gorge, killing all 72 people on board, including four crew members.The memorial assembly was held exactly at 10.58 am, the time the plane crashed, near Miteripul at Pokhara metropolis 7. Lamps were lit in memory of each person killed in the disaster.
Addressing the condolence assembly, Chief Minister of Gandaki province Khagaraj Adhikari said the entire Gandaki province, including Kaski district, has been soaked in grief of those who died in the plane crash and there was no alternative to coming to terms with the situation.
He extended heartfelt gratitude to the Nepali Army, the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, Nepal Scouts, Red Cross, people’s representatives, civil servants and the political parties and all sides who lent a hand in the rescue works following the accident.
Chief Minister Adhikari paid tribute to all those killed in the biggest air crash on a domestic flight so far.Pokhara mayor Dhanaraj Acharya described the plane accident as an irreparable loss to Pokhara and paid tributes to the crash victims.
