Consensus reached in Shekhar panel, Gagan to contest against Deuba for PP leader

Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa is all set to file his candidacy for the post of Parliamentary Party (PP) leader. He is filing his candidacy with the support of party leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala.

A meeting of the Thapa and Koirala factions held this morning in Lainchour today decided to field Gagan Thapa as the Parliamentary Party leader.

Leader Koirala said that he will propose Gagan Thapa as the candidate for the leader of the parliamentary party as he is in favor of party transformation including generational transfer.

Thapa will be contesting with NC President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday.
