Corruption Chargesheet Filed Against Seven Individuals in Rupandehi
RUPANDEHI – The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has taken a decisive step by filing a comprehensive charge sheet against seven individuals from Rupandehi, including Laxman Aryal, the former Chief Administrative Officer of Marchwari Rural Municipality. The charges revolve around allegations of corruption and impropriety.
CIAA Spokesperson Bhola Dahal disclosed that the chargesheet has been lodged against these individuals for their alleged involvement in soliciting commissions and bribes in various development and construction projects within the rural municipality. In an official statement released on Wednesday, the CIAA identified the accused as former Chief Administrative Officer Aryal, his son Pawan Kumar Aryal, Narayan Bahadur Yadav, who held the position of Ward No. 3 Chairperson, Gulab Yadav, the secretary of Ward No. 5 and 6, Binod Babu Tiwari, proprietor of Samriddha Nepal Energy, Rajesh Harijan, a village executive member, and Amarish Yadav, proprietor of Mansarobar Technical Training Institute.
Spokesperson Dahal emphasized that a notable aspect of the corruption scheme was the establishment of a bank account under a third party’s name to clandestinely deposit the acquired commissions.
Through a comprehensive investigation, it was substantiated that Chief Administrative Officer Aryal had accepted illicit gratuities from various groups involved in financial transactions related to a spectrum of projects. These projects ranged from solar energy initiatives and developmental endeavors to skill-oriented tailoring programs and more.
The chargesheet marks a pivotal juncture in the ongoing fight against corruption, underscoring the commitment of the CIAA to root out corrupt practices and hold those involved accountable for their actions. As the legal proceedings unfold, the nation watches closely, with the hope that justice will prevail and serve as a deterrent against future instances of corruption and malfeasance.
