DHANKUTA, Dec 14 – In a shocking incident during his Sankalp Yatra on the central hilly highway, CPN-UML President KP Sharma Oli was assaulted when a person unexpectedly punched him in Mahalakshmi Municipality 5 Legua in Dhankuta.
The assault occurred as Oli entered Dhankuta from Bhojpur, where Mahesh Rai from Legua approached the UML President and threw a punch. Rai, who was initially standing in line to welcome Oli, took an unexpected turn, leaving security personnel and bystanders stunned.
Immediately after the assault, security personnel on the scene swiftly apprehended Rai, preventing any further disturbance. The police have since confirmed the arrest of Mahesh Rai.
