Dengue Claims Life in Chitwan, 63-Year-Old Man Succumbs to Infection
A 63-year-old man from Bharatpur metropolis-2 in Chitwan has died from dengue infection, marking a concerning development in the ongoing outbreak. The deceased was undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College when he passed away on Saturday, as confirmed by Bimal Patel, a Public Health Officer at the District Public Health Office.
The man was admitted to the hospital on Friday after presenting with a high fever, but despite medical efforts, he could not recover. This fatality underscores the severity of the dengue situation in the district, which has seen a significant number of infections.
According to the District Public Health Office, a total of 727 people have tested positive for dengue in Chitwan. Out of the 3,044 individuals who underwent testing, 532 cases were confirmed to be from Chitwan, with the remaining cases originating from other districts.
The rising number of dengue cases in the region highlights the need for increased vigilance and preventive measures to control the spread of the disease.
