In addition to the fatalities, seven others have fallen ill due to the outbreak. The Chief of the Health Section at Narainapur Rural Municipality, Nagendra Kumar Saha, reported that the diarrhea outbreak occurred in Gegli, a village near the border with India.

“A team of health workers has reached the village and is providing treatment to the patients,” Saha said. He also mentioned that coordination has been made with the Health Office in Banke to control the spread of diarrhea.

Health workers suspect that the outbreak may have been caused by the consumption of impure drinking water. Efforts are currently underway to contain the situation and provide necessary medical care to those affected.
