Fire in metal industry in Lalitpur claims one

A person died when a metal industry at Hattiban in Lalitpur caught fire today.

The identity of the person dying in the fire has not been ascertained yet, said SP Nareshraj Subedi at the Police Office in Lalitpur.

The incident took place at around 6 am at Sikma Metal Intex Pvt Ltd. Although it is not known how the fire erupted, it is speculated that leakage of electricity was the cause, police said.

The fire also reduced physical properties to ashes, police said, adding that the fire has been extinguished by now. Details of the damages are being collected.
