Foreign Minister NP Saud Advises Against Individual or Political Visits to Israel
Kathmandu, October 10: In light of the ongoing conflicts between Hamas and Israel, Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, NP Saud, has issued an advisory urging individuals and political entities not to visit Israel unless it is an official decision made at the political level.
Minister Saud delivered this statement while briefing the Foreign Relations and Tourism Committee of the House of Representatives regarding the recent attacks by Hamas in Israel and the situation of Nepali citizens residing in the war-affected region.
Recognizing the sensitivity of the situation in Israel following the attacks by Hamas, Minister Saud emphasized the need to refrain from politicizing the current circumstances. He stated, “The situation is sensitive. So, people are requested not to visit Israel at the personal or political levels unless it’s a political decision. We should not politicize this situation.”
During the meeting, lawmakers commended the Government of Nepal for its efforts to rescue Nepali citizens stranded in Israel. They also suggested that the government should continue its rescue operations to ensure the safety and well-being of Nepali nationals in the region.
