Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal Pays Courtesy Call on Omani Labour Minister
Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal paid a courtesy call on Dr. Mahad bin Said bin Ali Baowain, Minister of Labour of the Sultanate of Oman, today.
The meeting, held in Muscat, aimed to strengthen the bilateral ties between Nepal and Oman. During the discussion, both officials emphasized the importance of cooperation in various sectors, including labor, trade, and investment.
Foreign Secretary Lamsal expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided to Nepali workers in Oman and highlighted the contributions of the Nepali diaspora to the Omani economy. She also discussed potential areas for further collaboration and the enhancement of mutual benefits.
Minister Dr. Baowain acknowledged the significant role of Nepali workers in various sectors in Oman and assured continued support and cooperation. He also expressed interest in exploring new avenues for bilateral cooperation and strengthening the existing relationship between the two countries.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to work closely to enhance the partnership and to address any issues related to labor and employment.
This visit by Foreign Secretary Lamsal is part of a broader diplomatic initiative to foster stronger ties with countries in the Gulf region and to ensure the welfare of Nepali nationals working abroad.
