Former AIGP and RPP Leader Thakur Mohan Shrestha Attacked
Thakur Mohan Shrestha, former Additional Inspector General of the Armed Police Force and prominent figure within the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), faced a physical assault allegedly orchestrated by supporters of fellow party leader Bikram Pandey. The incident unfolded following Shrestha’s bold accusation of corruption against Pandey during a convened meeting of the Central Work Execution Committee at the party headquarters earlier today.
According to eyewitnesses, tensions escalated swiftly as Pandey abruptly exited the meeting upon Shrestha’s accusation, subsequently rallying his supporters. As Shrestha emerged from the meeting hall, he was reportedly confronted and attacked by Pandey’s cadres.
Party leaders have attributed the attack directly to the contentious remarks made by Shrestha during the committee gathering, pointing to escalating internal conflicts within the RPP.
Responding to the alarming situation, RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden swiftly issued a directive to identify and apprehend those responsible for the assault, emphasizing the party’s commitment to maintaining internal discipline and resolving disputes through peaceful means.
Amidst growing concerns over the safety and stability within the RPP, party spokesperson Mohan Shrestha assured that a thorough investigation into the incident is currently underway, reaffirming the party’s dedication to upholding democratic principles and ensuring accountability.
