Government Declares Public Holiday in Kathmandu Valley for Rato Matsyendranath Jatra

The government has announced a public holiday in the three districts of Kathmandu Valley on August 4, Sunday, in celebration of the Rato Matsyendranath Jatra. This day marks the exhibition of the legendary bhoto (vest) of the Rato Matsyendranath deity for public viewing.

A notice issued today by Spokesperson of the Home Ministry, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, stated that the public holiday will be observed in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts.

The government annually declares a public holiday in the Kathmandu Valley on the occasion of Bhotojatra to honor this significant cultural event.
