‘Government Officials to Travel Abroad Only for Essential Visits’

In a bid to cut down on unnecessary expenses, the government has announced a new policy aimed at discouraging foreign visits by government officials. Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun revealed the initiative while presenting the fiscal year 2081/82 BS (2024/25) budget estimate at a joint session of the federal parliament today.

Under the new policy, officials will only be permitted to travel abroad for essential purposes, with stricter scrutiny on requests for foreign trips. This move aligns with efforts to streamline government spending and prioritize domestic priorities.
