Government to Recommend Closing Current Parliamentary Session

The government has decided to advise President Ramchandra Poudel to bring the ongoing parliamentary session to a close. According to government spokesperson Rekha Sharma, this decision was made during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

The recommendation, set to be forwarded to the President, suggests concluding the session starting from midnight on April 14. Prior to this decision, discussions were held between Prime Minister Dahal and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli regarding the termination of the parliamentary session.

Leaders from the ruling party have cited the continuous obstruction by the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, as the reason behind this move. However, spokesperson Sharma clarified that the recommendation aims to provide a break for the House, considering that it will reconvene next month.
