Government to recommend President for issuance of Civil Code of Criminal Procedure (First Amendment) Ordinance-2079 BS

The government has decided to recommend to the President to issue the Civil Code of Criminal Procedure (First Amendment) Ordinance-2079 BS.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday decided on the same. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, briefing about the decisions of the Council of Ministers, shared that the Ordinance was recommended to President Bidya Devi Bhandari with the intention to bring the political parties or groups involved in violent activities disagreeing with the country’s political system into the peaceful political mainstream.

Minister Karki, also the Spokesperson of the government, said that the government also decided to recommend the Ordinance to the President with the objective to allow everyone to work in the country with internal unity.

Similarly, the Council of Ministers decided to add two women members in the public corporation advisory committee to make it more effective and inclusive.

Likewise, Secretary Suresh Acharya, who is currently working at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), has been transferred at the Ministry of Urban Development while Joint-Secretary Ram Adhar Shah would replace Acharya at the OPMCM after his promotion to the post of secretary.

The Council of Ministers decided to acquire land for the Godak-Soyak 132 KV transmission Line Project and designate an authority to conduct the preliminary proceedings, the Minister said.

An approval has been given to the Ex-Army Servicemen Association to lease the government-owned land, informed Minister Karki. Also, an approval has been given to use the forest area for the Kaligandaki Corridor (New Butwal/Bardaghat) Project 220 KV transmission line.
