Health Minister Poudel Announces Plans to Upgrade Kanti Children’s Hospital to International Standards

Health and Population Minister Pradip Poudel has announced plans to elevate Kanti Children’s Hospital to international standards following an inspection of the facility in Maharajganj.

Minister Poudel emphasized the need to improve service quality and hygiene at the hospital. He stated, “The service seeker should not feel neglected after coming here. The work being done here with limited resources and means is admirable, although more of your activism is sought by the state and the people.”

During the visit, Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Roshan Pokharel, highlighted that this year’s budget allocation for the hospital has been increased by 10 percent compared to last year. “We are going to make it bigger because of the trust of the common people towards this hospital and the capacity here. We look forward to this,” Dr. Pokharel added.

Hospital Director Dr. Pankaj Ray also called for additional support from the Ministry to further enhance the hospital’s capacity and services.

Minister Poudel concluded the visit by inaugurating the new 16-bed ‘Child Psychiatric Inpatient Ward’, marking a significant step in the hospital’s expansion and improvement efforts.
