Himalayan Reinsurance Limited Extends Support to Earthquake-Affected Communities in Western Nepal
In the aftermath of the recent devastating magnitude 6.4 earthquake that shook the western region of Nepal, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited has swiftly mobilized relief efforts to aid the affected communities.
The districts of Jajarkot and Rukum West bore the brunt of the earthquake, particularly in the Ramidanda area of Jajarkot, where the impact was most severe. According to official government figures, the earthquake has claimed 154 lives to date, with thousands of houses destroyed and hundreds of people injured. The destruction extends to numerous homes, schools, and public infrastructure.
Demonstrating its commitment to community well-being, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited has dispatched a total of 1,878 tarpaulins and 2,000 blankets, collectively valued at Rs. 35 Lakhs, as essential relief materials for the affected individuals and families. The tarpaulins have already been delivered to the District Administration Office of Rukum West, located at Musikot. Simultaneously, the blankets are enroute to the district administration office of West Rukum, ensuring swift and efficient distribution to those requiring urgent aid.
