House Meeting Disrupted by UML and RPP Objections

The regular session of the House of Representatives faced obstruction on Friday as members from the CPN-UML and Rastriya Prajatantra Party voiced their concerns. The disruption arose when UML lawmakers contested a statement made by Nepali Congress leader Rajendra KC regarding the absence of opposition lawmakers on Thursday, leading to a shortfall in quorum for discussing a bill.

During the session, UML lawmaker Yogesh Bhattarai demanded the resignation of three Cabinet ministers, while RPP’s chief whip Gyanendra Shahi echoed similar sentiments, calling for accountability from specific ministers.

As tensions rose, lawmakers from the CPN-UML and RPP obstructed the proceedings when Speaker Ghimire attempted to move forward with the agenda. Consequently, Speaker Ghimire adjourned the meeting for a brief period of 15 minutes to address the situation.
