House of Representatives Meeting Delayed to 2 PM

The anticipated House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, originally slated for 11 am, has been rescheduled to 2 pm this afternoon. The delay comes as the task force tasked with defining the Terms of Reference (TOR) for a committee probing cooperative fund misappropriation failed to reach a consensus.

The Nepali Congress, serving as the main opposition party, has persistently obstructed meetings in both the lower and upper houses. Their demand for a parliamentary committee to scrutinize Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s involvement in the cooperative fraud case has been a point of contention.

However, a breakthrough emerged on Saturday evening when leaders from both the ruling and opposition factions came together to address the issue. They reached an agreement to establish the probe committee and formed a task force to iron out the finer details.
