Gold Smuggling Case

House will not proceed today: UML chief Whip

UML chief Whip, Padam Giri, announced that the House will not proceed today.

Giri stated that as Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ failed to provide a clear answer during a meeting with UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, the House will not proceed today.

During the meeting, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli had urged the Prime Minister to form a high-level investigation committee to probe the controversial gold case. The case involves the recovery of a substantial amount of gold outside the airport, raising suspicions of corruption and government involvement. Giri stated that the Home Minister should be held accountable for the incident.

However, to the dismay of UML leaders, the Prime Minister’s response remained ambiguous, and he outright refused to establish the proposed committee.

In light of the Prime Minister’s indecisive stance, UML has taken a firm position, asserting that the House cannot function effectively until the gold case is thoroughly investigated and the Home Minister steps down from his position.
