ICC world cricket league: Scotland beat Namibia by 43 runs
Scotland has defeated Namibia by 43 in the triangular ODI series held under ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2. In a match held at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur today, Namibia was all out chasing the target of 222 runs given by Scotland with only 178 runs in 38.4 overs.
For Namibia, only Lo-handre Lauwrens and captain Gerard Erasmus were the notable contributors with 52 and 43 runs respectively, while Jane Green scored 25 runs.
For the bowling side, Mark Watt took four wickets, Michael Leask took three wickets while Brandon McMullen took two wickets.
Earlier, put into bat first, Scotland scored 221 runs after losing all wickets in 48.4 overs. Christopher McBride scored the highest 47 runs while Tomas Mackintosh scored 34 and captain Richie Berrington scored 32.
For Namibia, Ruben Trumpelmann took five wickets while Tangini Lungimini took two wickets.
Namibia has lost all four matches in this series. Earlier, Namibia lost to Nepal by 2 wickets and 3 wickets and to Scotland by 10 wickets.
In the points table, Namibia is in third position with 37 points from 34 matches. Already crowned champions of League 2, Scotland are in the top position with 50 points from 35 games. Nepal will face Scotland in the last match under the triangular series tomorrow.
