IGP in France, Reshuffle in Nepal Police: Six SSPs Transferred

In a significant reshuffle within the Nepal Police, the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the transfer of six Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs). The decision was made while Inspector General Basanta Kunwar is in France attending an INTERPOL program.

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane initiated the transfers during the absence of the IGP, indicating a strategic shift in police leadership.

SSP Bhupendra Khatri, previously stationed at the Kathmandu District Police Office, has been reassigned to the Crime Investigation Department. Basant Rajurel will replace him as the new Chief of Kathmandu.

Further, SSP Somendra Singh Rathore has moved from the Central Investigation Bureau to the National Security Council. Sanuram Bhattarai steps in as his successor at the Crime Investigation Office.

In other moves, SSP Abhayanarayan Kafle from the Police Headquarters Training Directorate has been transferred to a similar role in Koshi Province. Meanwhile, SSP Rajan Adhikari, formerly of Koshi, has been appointed to the Training Directorate at the Headquarters.
