India-Nepal Relations Touch the Souls of Two Countries, Says Lucknow University VC Rai

On the first day of their interaction with the top educational institutions in Nepal, a prominent Indian academic delegation, led by Vice Chancellor Alok Kumar Rai of Lucknow University, organized a bilateral educational and cultural workshop. The event aimed to foster closer ties between India and Nepal in the realms of education and culture.

During the workshop, extensive discussions took place between the Indian delegation and officials from Lumbini University and Rajarshi Janak University. The focus was on exploring opportunities for enhancing educational and cultural relations between the two neighboring countries.

A significant milestone was achieved during this event as an educational and cultural memorandum of understanding was signed with several prestigious institutions in Nepal, including Rajarshi Janak University, Quest International College in Kathmandu, Don Bosco College, and Novel College in Pokhara.

Vice Chancellor Rai’s proposal to seek common areas of interest and collaborate on student-centric education was warmly welcomed by the higher education institutions of Nepal. He emphasized the deep-rooted connection between India and Nepal, stating, “The India-Nepal relationship touches the soul of the two countries. Therefore, our education will build sustainable relations between the human resources on one hand and the collective consciousness of the two countries on the other.”

Furthermore, Vice Chancellor Rai revealed Lucknow University’s plans to establish an India-Nepal Lab, serving as a platform for cultural, educational, and scientific policy development through research and discussions centered on shared interests. He stressed the importance of constructive deliberation in achieving the noble objective of understanding and fostering positivity and happiness.

The partner institutions enthusiastically embraced the ideas presented by the Lucknow University delegation and pledged to collaborate in the realms of education, science, and culture. Lucknow University has a longstanding and robust relationship with the people of Nepal, with numerous Nepali students having studied at the institution.

Vice Chancellor Rai concluded by affirming India’s commitment to engage constructively with Nepali partners through initiatives like ‘Horizon Coordination 1.1,’ which reflects the Neighbor First policy. He announced plans to establish programs and workshops for Nepali partners in the human resource development center, underlining the dedication to strengthening the educational and cultural bonds between the two nations.
