Indian Minister of External Affairs, S Jaishankar, Holds Talks with Nepali Congress President Deuba on Bilateral Relations
The Indian Minister of External Affairs, S Jaishankar, engaged in discussions with Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba during his official visit to Nepal on Thursday. The meeting, which took place at the NC party office, delved into various issues of bilateral interest, as confirmed by the NC party office.
Krishna Prasad Paudel, Chief Secretary of the NC party office, disclosed to Rastriya Samachar Samiti that the talks covered topics aimed at strengthening the relations between the two countries. Emphasis was placed on promoting Indian assistance to contribute to Nepal’s ongoing development initiatives.
Prior to his meeting with President Deuba, Minister Jaishankar extended courtesy calls to President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. The discussions during these courtesy calls likely touched upon matters of mutual concern and interest.
S Jaishankar’s visit to Nepal was part of his attendance at the Nepal-India joint commission meeting, which transpired on the same day. The joint commission meeting provided a platform for both nations to engage in comprehensive discussions on a range of issues, including economic cooperation, trade, and regional connectivity.
As Minister Jaishankar concludes his visit, the diplomatic interactions are expected to contribute positively to the strengthening of ties between India and Nepal, fostering collaboration and understanding between the two neighboring nations.
